
🩺 CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers (CPRO)
The CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers (CPRO) program trains professional-level rescuers to respond effectively to breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, and infants until more advanced medical personnel take over.
This course has been updated to the latest International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) guidelines, including the American Red Cross Aquatic Guidelines and Best Practices, which are based on scientific evidence evaluations and reviews overseen by the American Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council.
👩⚕️ Who Should Take This Course
The term professional rescuer refers to individuals with a duty to act, including:
EMS professionals and first responders
Nurses, physicians, and CNAs
Lifeguards, athletic trainers, and recreation staff
Other healthcare and public safety personnel
🧠 Course Content
Participants will develop knowledge and hands-on skills to provide high-quality emergency care in a professional setting, including:
Rapid patient assessment
Giving ventilations using a resuscitation mask
Using a Bag-Valve-Mask (BVM) resuscitator with two rescuers
Performing CPR and AED use in single-, two-, and multiple-rescuer (team) settings
Providing obstructed airway care for responsive and unresponsive patients
